Description |
---|
A syslog server (log host) receives syslog messages from one or more systems. This data can be used as an authoritative log source in the event a system is compromised and its local logs are suspect. Permanent not a finding - Remote logging is covered as a VMware HG requirement. Audit records are logged to a remote syslog server, which "may" be the vCenter Server or an unrelated organization-defined syslog server. Records are centrally managed off-system by a remote loghost; refer to SRG-OS-99999-ESXI5-000133. |
